bailieborough has a growing number of young people who enjoy skateboarding, scootering, bmx and other wheeled sports, but there is currently no dedicated skatepark in the town.

a properly designed skatepark would provide young people with a safe, accessible and free place to exercise, develop skills and spend time with friends. it would also give young people a positive recreational activity within the local community rather than requiring them to travel to other towns to access suitable facilities.

a skatepark could benefit the wider community by encouraging outdoor activity, bringing young people together and making bailieborough a more attractive place for families and visitors.

we are asking cavan county council to:

investigate the possibility of developing a public skatepark in bailieborough;
identify a suitable location for the facility;
consult with local young people and residents about its design;
explore available funding and grants; and
consider including a skatepark in future community and recreational development plans for bailieborough.
young people in bailieborough deserve access to safe, free and properly designed recreational facilities within their own community.
