A few red box markers with a stud in the middle have now appeared throughout the field on either side of what would be the proposed footpath. A quick Google search has resulted in the following:
- That this is likely a cross-sectional survey grid mapping what would be the slope and drainage of the footpath (to drain rainwater into the field) as the numbering increases and alternates from left to right throughout;
- R denotes 'Radar' for ground penetrating radar used to identify utility cables lying beneath the ground/walkway; and
- The bolt in the middle is used as an additional marker in case the red marking is washed away or easily covered over.
If this is for the footpath it would usually take 1-3 months for construction to be completed. More signs pointing to this may appear in the coming weeks.
Hopefully this means that a footpath will therefore be constructed and completed during the school summer holidays (between the end of July and the beginning of September).
