Hi All, I just wanted to give a quick update of the current progress. Unfortunately there is still no firm date as to when we will be able to access Fibre but I am not giving up. I have spoken to BT and Openreach (via email) several times highlighting the petition and the huge desire there is for superfast broadband at Coopers but honestly it's like talking to a brick wall. The best information I have gotten came yesterday from Openreach stating that Cabinet 35 (the one at Coopers) is is going to be upgraded in the next rollout phase 1... From Openreach.. "It (cabinet 35) is going to be part of the Superfast Extension Program. The Superfast Extension Programme (SEP) (which includes a new phase of procurement which is due to conclude early next year) is the next step in the Government’s programme. SEP represents a further £250 million investment with an ambition to extend Superfast Broadband to 95 per cent of the UK by the end of 2017." I have asked for our cabinet to be prioritised as one of the first cabinets to be upgraded so still waiting for a response. Can I ask that all of you do the following as it could really help speed the process along... 1. Register interest in Virgin Broadband (they will be soon expanding in northern Ireland so coopers could be chosen if there is enough interest. https://keepup.virginmedia.com/cablemystreet 2. Register interest in BT Infinity http://www.productsandservices.bt.com/products/upgrade-your-broadband/ec-upg-bb-sc-fttc-copper.html 3. Register interest in BT Openreach upgrading our cabinet http://www.superfast-openreach.co.uk/expression-gen.aspx 4. Register interest with Superfast Northern Ireland http://nibroadband.com/register-interest 5. Ring your internet service provider (like BT, TalkTalk etc) and register your interest in Fibre broadband. Tell them about the petition that has over 160 signatures and you'd like to complain that you are still without Fibre after all these years. 6. If your on Twitter send tweets to @SuperfastNI @btcare @Openreach_news @StephenNolan linking to the petition bit.ly/1L0Ke2g with hashtag #CoopersFibre
