India suffered through 200 years of British 'Raj'.

Throughout this time, India suffered exploitations that are hard to imagine in today's day and age. 

As all Indians fondly remember, signs that read "Dogs and Indians not allowed," were common and used widely.

Being a part of the Indian youth today, I think that we have overlooked this far too long.

Some facts pointed out by Shashi Tharoor back the argument up completely:

• Before British rule, India's share of the world economy was 23%, post the 'Raj', it had decreased to a mere 4%.
• India was one of the largest exporters of cloth, with 27% of the world's trade, instead it became an importer, and now is down to 2%.
• 1/6th of the British forces that fought in the WW1 were Indian. (Why should we fight someone else's war?) 54,000 Indians were killed.
• Between 15-19Million Indians were killed in British induced famines.
