Raise the (higher level) corporate tax by 1% to fund education
The Issue
BC has the lowest corporate tax rate in the country. If we raised it by 1%, it would still be below the national average, 3rd lowest across provinces, and only 0.14% higher than the lowest 2 provinces.
The funds raised by this nominal tax increase could be used to address the widely agreed upon problems of class size and composition. We should make our public education system a priority.
