Thank you to everyone who has signed and shared the petition so far. Your support has helped keep Jamaica on the agenda at a moment when the media and political attention have largely moved on.

We want to be honest. The news cycle has shifted, but the reality on the ground in Jamaica has not. By the Jamaican Government’s own admission, recovery remains slow and the needs are still significant.

As we approach Christmas and the New Year, Wales is now entering a quieter political period. That makes public pressure even more important. We are currently researching what further support may be available or mobilised in Wales, including political, community and humanitarian pathways, and we will update you as soon as we have clarity.

This is also why it is vital that we continue to push this petition forward. At this stage, the only way to secure renewed attention and meaningful action is through increased public pressure and visible public mobilisation. Our aim is to take this petition forward as part of a National Day of Action, when we intend to lobby Parliament directly.

Thank you for everything you have already done in support of Jamaica and for the solidarity shown by communities across Wales. We know many of you have given your time, energy and voice freely, and that matters.

We wish you and your families a peaceful Christmas and a hopeful New Year. In the weeks ahead, we will be announcing further local meetings and opportunities to organise. If you would like to host a local meeting in your area to support the petition and the National Day of Action, please get in touch. We would be very happy to support and promote it.

Together, we will keep pushing.

With thanks and solidarity,
Lee Jasper
