Dear supporters,
Thank you for continuing to stand with us. We are writing at a moment of real urgency.
The situation in Iran is worsening, with deeply troubling reports of civilian casualties, including women, children and even school pupils. Homes, medical centres and schools have been damaged or destroyed, and many families are now facing unimaginable loss and uncertainty.
Beyond the immediate human cost, the risk of further escalation remains high. Without urgent diplomatic intervention, this conflict could expand into a wider regional crisis, deepening humanitarian suffering in the region and bringing economic and social consequences that will also be felt here in the United Kingdom.
As promised, we are now sharing a simple template that you can use to contact your MP. A short, personal message from constituents can make a real difference, particularly at a time like this. Please feel free to adapt or personalise the message — this is simply a suggested starting point. Please also continue to share the petition and this template with your friends, colleagues and neighbours — every voice helps strengthen the call for peace.
Template message to your MP
Subject: Please urge the Government to prioritise peace and avoid escalation with Iran
Dear [MP’s name],
I hope this message finds you well. I am writing as a constituent to express my deep concern about the escalating, illegal war imposed on Iran.
Like many others, I am troubled by the growing loss of civilian life, the destruction of essential infrastructure, and the risk of a much wider regional war. At a time when diplomacy was still possible, further escalation feels especially alarming.
I am also concerned about the wider consequences — including humanitarian suffering, potential displacement, and the impact this conflict could have on communities here in the UK, including members of the Iranian diaspora.
As your constituent, I kindly ask that you urge the Government to take a principled and peaceful approach.
In particular, I hope you will support the following:
- Support an immediate cessation of hostilities to protect civilians, as a step towards a complete and enduring end to the war;
- Ensure full parliamentary scrutiny before any UK involvement;
- Oppose the use of UK bases or resources to support this war;
- Promote urgent diplomatic efforts and negotiation over further escalation;
- Support humanitarian access and aid for those affected;
- Prepare responsibly for potential humanitarian impacts, including refugees.
I believe the United Kingdom should stand for international law, the protection of civilians, and peaceful resolution — not entangled in another open-ended war.
Thank you for taking the time to read this. I would be grateful to know your position on this matter.
Yours sincerely,
