Badock’s Wood Children’s Centre provide excellent childcare in Southmead, Bristol.

My son has been attending the children’s centre from when he was 6mths old and he is now 3yrs old.  He truly enjoys ‘his school’ and the childcare provided is simply amazing!

The staff care about all the children, from the admin staff to the nursery nurses. They work together as a large family and support all the families that attend the centre.

Badock’s Wood Children’s Centre have been informed that Bristol City Council need to make significant changes to the children’s centre as it appears the centre has been financially running at a lost.

The proposed changes are:

No longer able to provide wraparound childcare 

Only offering Free Entitlement places for 2, 3 and 4year olds 

Shorter childcare days 

Closing the baby room

Unable to provide meals 

If these changes are approved then working parents will need to look for other nursery’s/childcare, as a working parent this is another obstacle in trying to maintain a job I need without the security of knowing my child is being looked after properly or may need to leave my job (I’m a nurse so this impacts on me greatly!)
