Victoria Park is a well-established and well-used inner city recreational golf facility, catering for Brisbane City residents of all levels of golfing ability.

To abolish the course proper and reduce the facilities down to a driving range and commercially successful booze-selling functions and putt-putt area will cut the public sporting heart out of our wonderful city.   Brisbane is justifiably proud of its burgeoning reputation as a "world-class" city.  "World-class" cities include proper public recreation facilities for their residents.   To lose this facility with a growing inner-city population is to condemn Brisbane to a future of second-class mallrat and casino-zombie inhabitants.  

With some effort and public consultation, a combined greenspace and golf course solution could no doubt be found.  Please support this petition to the BCC and Lord Mayor Schrinner: consult the public and produce a "world-class" win-win solution for ALL inner-city residents.
