Daddy Update: Finally got proof that the Taiwanese institution, systems and government have inhumane and abusive medical practices towards elderly dementia patients! The Taipei City Government issued a statement to me when I filed a complaint on tying my dad down…“…medical professionals for his current physical condition and needs to be restrained, and has been agreed to be recorded by the signatory.”
Since my dad entered his first Taiwan elderly facility in 2013, when he was able to walk and even run…They tied him down for “safety” reasons. Forcing us to sign affidavits every month to allow them to tie my dad down! I was hesitant every time I signed but they assured me that if I’m present he won’t need to be tied down. Again! They said everything was for his safety! And being a dancer and dance teacher, I knew this was complete bull�!
In his second facility, they didn’t allow my dad to sit on the couch even though the doctor suggested it and he was able to. Then after a Taiwanese judge sanctioned my dad to return back to the facility, they started to tie him down to a point where he was moaning loudly and looking distressed and uncomfortable. But this facility also said I can untie him when I visit him.
Now a Taiwanese social worker who has yelled at me for “saying that America doesn’t tie down their dementia patients…” she was saying America doesn’t matter in Taiwan! This Taipei social worker got the police to tie down my dad! All four: my mom, Taipei govt social worker and two cops…All spoke that my mom needs to get the restraining order on me right away! So that I won’t be able to see my dad again…
I want everyone to know that when my dad was forced into these Taiwan facilities my aunt/Dagu, dad’s sister and my mom who is the guardian of my dad…appointed my dad’s sister as my dad’s inventory manager. So my aunt who is a retired head nurse at Walter Reed Hospital and who graduated from the top nursing school in Taiwan — NTU! Knows exactly of how both U.S. and Taiwan healthcare systems work! And because her husband is a retired U.S. Army Corps of Engineer working for the Pentagon, NTU guest lecturer and Taiwan policy advisor with two sons as highly acclaimed doctors who graduated from MIT with a PhD and Harvard MD and Cornell and West Virginia MD practiced as a teaching doctor at Dartmouth…Lecturing at NTU! They ALL know very clearly what they are doing to my dad…
Forcing my dad, completely against his will, in Taiwan facilities, and not allowing him to live in his own home! And with the support of all of my dad’s siblings…They have donated thousands to each facility that they are forcing my dad to be in! On top of the fact that their kids, my cousins are ALL in powerful positions or married into a family with power and wealth…ALL who I have begged for help to bring my dad HOME! One denied me, and the rest…Silence! Just watching my IG stories! ��
I want you all to know and understand how powerful my family is in the U.S. and Taiwan, and that they can do something to help bring my dad back to the U.S. — They CHOOSE not to do anything! They are the ones forcing my dad to be on this piece of disgusting � island! And the Taiwanese/Chinese community I grew up with…Graduating from every elite university in the U.S. — Silence! None of them asking if they can help!
I want you ALL to understand clearly that when you have an entire community who’s been successful at getting into these Ivy Leagues or elite universities becoming doctors, lawyers, engineers or in finance…You all need to understand that these are the people who have stayed silent, and not offered any help to bring their relative, a dementia patient back home to the U.S. — In fact they are the ones who is forcing their own brother, dad, husband and uncle to be in a place, completely against his will!
I want you all to know and understand…I will never ever give up on bringing my dad back to his beloved home! DADDY WE ARE GOING HOME…��������✌�
