Bring Wolfenstein 2009 Back to Digital Storefronts

Bring Wolfenstein 2009 Back to Digital Storefronts

The Issue

Activision and Raven Software's 2009 release 'Wolfenstein' is currently the most well-received game in the series on Steam. Sitting at an overwhelmingly-positive 97% based on 4,682 reviews (source: https://prnt.sc/u26ctg) at the time of writing, second only to the classic Wolfenstein 3D released back in 1992 which boasts a 94% positive rating.

While Machine Games' 2014 reboot of the series was highly praised and a welcome return to form, their more recent titles have again become stale and left a lot for long-time Wolfenstein players to desire. Fans of the franchise are now at the point where they are faced with either spending hundreds to thousands of dollars on an official copy or just never experiencing the game at all. It's only the obligation of the powers that be to help put an end to that sort of rarity-based extortion.

The fact that it's rated higher than ANY other Wolfenstein game currently sold on Steam and is the only one to be rated overwhelmingly positive, I think should be a strong reason for id Software, Raven, Activision, Bethesda, Zenimax and/or Microsoft to sort out whatever issue is keeping it from hungry Wolfenstein fans, and give it the release it deserves.

Some games deserve nothing more than to be buried and forgotten, Wolfenstein 2009 is not one of those titles and the insane prices paid by desperate fans and the wash of positive reviews left in its wake is nothing but a testament to its right to return in one form or another. Please, id Software, Activision, Bethesda, Zenimax - do right by your fans and resurrect a relic of Wolfenstein history...

Its time.
