Dear Community,

With heavy hearts, we share that the DNA results have confirmed what no mother should ever have to face—the remains found belong to Alpachino Mignott.

For the past two months, I have walked alongside Meshanda, witnessing her unwavering love, strength, and resilience as she searched for her son. She left her home in Jamaica and traveled across borders, holding onto hope that Alpachino would return to her. That hope has now turned into grief beyond words.

This is not just a tragedy—it is a mother’s worst nightmare. Alpachino was Meshanda’s only child. He was her world. And now, she faces the unbearable reality of bringing him home and giving him the farewell he deserves.

But she should not have to carry this burden alone.

The financial costs of this journey—repatriation, funeral expenses, private investigators, and legal fees—are overwhelming. We need to stand with Meshanda in this moment of unimaginable loss.

As we navigate this painful journey, it has become clear that unanswered questions remain about the circumstances surrounding Alpachino’s disappearance and death. Authorities have stated that no foul play is suspected, but we do not believe this to be true.

Alpachino was more than a name. He was a son, an athlete, a brother, a friend. His life was filled with promise, and though his journey has ended too soon, we will honour his memory with action and love.

Let’s come together, as we always have, to lift up Meshanda in her darkest hour.

With gratitude,
Shana McCalla
