Divvy Days 2026 is happening — and we need you there

We want to be upfront: this isn't us writing to say the bid has been won. The National Lottery Heritage Fund decision is still ahead of us, and your signature matters more than ever in the run-up to it — if you haven't shared the petition yet, now's the moment.

What we can tell you is that the Kite Festival: Divvy Days 2026 is happening! This event was already planned and funded by Arts Council England, as a step in bringing the Kite's cooperative history back into the neighbourhood.

24–26 October, Divvy Days:

• 24 Oct — Harvesting our Community Dinner: first harvest at Brandon Court, taste test different Kite Nature pesto (a possible cooperative product)
• 25–26 Oct — Divvy Day street theatre: original stories from The Kite's cooperative past, performed in front of the cooperative facades in the Grafton Centre by Your Past Performed and written by Dr Sean Lang  

Early bird tickets are on sale now.

This is exactly the kind of thing the petition is fighting for — a public, physical, communal way of holding onto a history that's otherwise at risk of disappearing under the pace of change in Cambridge. But one weekend of theatre and dinner doesn't secure that history. The Heritage Fund bid is what would let us build a permanent Kite Cooperative Heritage trail and tour, and create new heritage jobs — work that carries on past this October.
