STATEMENT OF FACTS

Initial Contact and Immediate Bias

From the very first phone call with DCFS, I was met with hostility, bias, and disrespect. Before anyone had met me in person, visited my home, or reviewed any information, the worker handling my case called me a liar and judged my character. I was spoken to in a degrading and unprofessional manner, including being called insulting names and being accused of things with no evidence presented. This set the tone for the investigation and created a prejudiced atmosphere from the beginning.

Assumptions Made Without Investigation

Decisions were made based on assumptions instead of facts. Information I attempted to provide was rejected without review. Concerns I tried to explain were dismissed, and documentation I offered was not looked at. This unfair, premature judgment led to actions that were not grounded in a complete or accurate understanding of my situation or my children’s needs.

Failure to Conduct a Proper or Neutral Assessment

A proper investigation should include gathering evidence, observing the home, verifying information, and interviewing relevant parties. Instead, conclusions about me were reached before these steps were taken. This resulted in an inaccurate portrayal of my parenting abilities and the safety of my home.

Unfair Removal of My Children

Based on biased assumptions and incomplete information, my children were removed from my care. This removal did not reflect the true conditions of our home or my ability to provide for and protect my children. The decision was not made objectively and did not follow the principles of fairness, impartiality, or due process.

Emotional and Psychological Harm to the Children

The removal of my children has caused them significant emotional harm. They were suddenly separated from their mother, their routines, their source of comfort, and the environment where they felt safe and loved. This has created confusion, fear, and stress for them. The longer this separation continues, the more likely it will cause long-term trauma and attachment disruption.

My Full Cooperation and Compliance

Despite the unfair treatment I received, I have complied fully with every requirement set by DCFS. I have attended all meetings, fulfilled every step of my case plan, participated in services, and maintained consistent communication. I have shown commitment, responsibility, and growth throughout this process.

Lack of Progress Toward Reunification Despite My Efforts

Although I have completed all requirements and demonstrated stability, reunification has not been advanced appropriately. The original bias appears to still influence the case, and my progress is not being recognized or acted upon in a timely manner. This delay continues to harm my children emotionally and keeps them in an environment where they lack the security and attachment of being with their mother.

Ongoing Danger of Emotional and Psychological Harm

Remaining separated from me places my children at ongoing emotional risk. Children need stability, consistent caregiving, and the presence of their primary attachment figure. Prolonged separation from a parent—especially when based on unfair or inaccurate reasoning—can cause lasting psychological harm. Reunification is necessary to protect their well-being.
