Hi everyone,

I wanted to share a quick update on our petition to bring lights to Ed Austin Skatepark!

I’ve been in contact with the Director of the Department of Parks & Recreation and Community Services for the City of Jacksonville. They’ve officially added lighting for the skatepark to their list of requests and are currently reviewing and prioritizing the project.

They’re now working with a vendor to get a cost estimate for the proposed lighting installation. Once they have more concrete information, they’ll follow up with additional details—and I’ll be sure to keep you all updated as I hear more.

I will continue staying in contact with the department and advocating for this project every step of the way. In the meantime, we are still collecting signatures, so please continue sharing the petition! Every signature helps show the city how important this is to our community and could help speed things along.
