Template letter/email for your MP

Here is a template letter/email, which I am sending at the suggestion of a signee. If we all do this it will have a greater impact! Remember this is just a template - amend as appropriate. Your MP should listen to you as a constituent and under professional standards keep your details confidential unless you say otherwise. You can find your MP here, with contact details including email address: http://www.parliament.uk/mps-lords-and-offices/mps/ Dear (Name of MP) The Mobile Homes Act 2013 is due to be reviewed by the government this year, including whether Fit and Proper criteria need to be brought in over who can own a Mobile Home site (currently there are no such regulations) and the effectiveness of Local Authority Licensing. You may have heard reports of bullying of Park Home residents by some site owners, although many residents are afraid to come forward for fear of hassle where they live. Many Park Home owners are also over 60 years old, and consequently can be more vulnerable. This matter is of great concern to me because…… fill in your reasons I have heard reports of other people suffering - in some cases for decades - yet this area of law seems to constantly get lost behind other matters. Some criteria have been brought in this year in Wales, and are due in Scotland, but the review in England has been delayed. An online petition has been set up which I have signed. Although limited in it’s reach, it indicates signatures from people spread over the country and is therefore a matter of concern for a number of people. It calls for: 1) Fit and Proper controls over site owners 2) A safe way for residents to log problems 3) A national database of information regarding site owners that can be accessed by Local Authorities The good site owners should not object to criteria, which are needed for protection against the rogues.
