Dear Friends of Wild Horses & Burros, Yesterday 2 more baby mustangs died at the cruel Wyoming Checkerboard roundup. One foal was only 3 months old and the other was 6 months old. Both of these babies died in the "care" of BLM during the roundup. Something is very wrong here . . . the stress and trauma of the roundup is too much for the little ones. It seems they are running into corral panels and are breaking they necks or collapsing in the trailers after being chased by choppers for miles and miles. Now a total of 3 innocent young wild horses have died in BLM's care during the roundup--and it's only beginning. If the BLM is going to roundup and transport wild horses, they must do it safely without deaths. Sloppy handling and care of wild horses is an international disgrace. Is this how we want our symbols of freedom and the spirit of the West to be treated--with tax dollars funding horrific cruelty? This is an election year and our elected officials need to be reminded they represent our voices in government. It's important to take a few minutes today to write your 2 senators and your representative asking them to intervene to stop the cruel Wyoming roundup.
