BLM is planning on wiping out America's last wild horse & burro herds based on inflated numbers! Here's an except from the article: "The BLM planned to remove 3500 wild horses and burros from the western public rangelands in 2016. However, the BLM is finding little sympathy for its plight among wild horse advocacy groups, many of whom have condemned the ongoing use of costly roundups. Anne Novak, the executive director of Protect Mustangs, said the BLM generated $US 4.1 billion in receipts last year, so it could afford to take care of the wild horses and burros. “When we are out in the field we don’t see an overpopulation of wild horses and burros. These days they are hard to find,” she said. Novak pointed to the 2013 National Academy of Sciences report into wild horses, which also took issue with the ongoing program of musters The report, she noted, found no evidence of overpopulation. It said the Wild Horse and Burro Program had not used scientifically rigorous methods to estimate the populations, to model the effects of management actions, or to assess the availability and use of forage on rangelands."
