Despite all the adversity facing America's wild horses & burros, we absolutely must persevere for them. They need you now more than ever because they have been betrayed by so many people. . . Some of those people don't even realize they are betraying them and others know very well what they are doing by manipulating public opinion to line their pockets with lots of money.
Why is it that people are focusing on lack instead of abundance? Why all the fear mongering, infighting and "lesser of two evils" spin doctoring?
Who gave people the right to harass and abuse America's wild horses based on fear, overpopulation lies and narrow minded attitudes?
It's time to evolve and get beyond this outdated mindset destroying America's herds of wild horses and burros.
What ever happened to the need for biodiversity and the thriving natural ecological balance? For example the Princeton University study reported that wildlife and cows can be partners, not enemies, in search for food (https://www.princeton.edu/main/news/archive/S32/93/41K10/index.xml?section=featured)
Why aren't the extractive or renewable industries focusing on win-wins with herds of wild horses as part of the deal?
It’s time to call out the elephant in the room: America's wild herds are underpopulated and facing genetic destruction. They must be saved right now in large numbers or the herds will be destroyed forever.
In 1900 millions of indigenous wild horses roamed freely in America. Today small herds are being managed to extinction with zoo-like methods of population control using pesticides (PZP, SpayVac®, Gonacon) and brutal sterilization surgeries. This is so wrong, just plain stupid and paid for with your tax dollars.
You can stop this by reaching out to your elected officials (http://www.contactingthecongress.org/ ) with a handwritten letter asking for them to protect America’s underpopulated herds of wild horses and burros with a moratorium on roundups, fertility control and sterilizations before it's too late. Make an appointment to visit their office and personally enlist their aid to champion America’s last wild horses and burros.
These are dire times and you are needed to make a difference for our wild ones.
I pray the greater American public will see that these divine herds on public land have value beyond dollars and must be preserved for the earth and generations to come.
Thank you and Bless you.
With love for wild horses,
Anne
