Petition updateBring Clean, Piped Water to Beecher Town, Jamaica- A Basic Human Right.

We Took It to the UN — And We're Just Getting Started

Today was a significant day for Beecher Town.

We have now reached 530 signatures — and your support fueled everything that happened today.

Here is what we did:

We formally submitted our urgent appeal to the UN Special Rapporteur on the Human Right to Safe Drinking Water and Sanitation, Mr. Pedro Arrojo-Agudo, accompanied by our full Feasibility Study and formal documentation of all government correspondence and responses received.

We also sent a formal follow-up letter directly to Minister Matthew Samuda, Minister of Water, Environment, and Climate Change, holding him accountable to Jamaica's own Vision 2030 commitment, which promises potable water to all Jamaicans by 2030. That deadline requires action now, not later.

The St. Ann Municipal Corporation has redirected us to the NWC. The NWC acknowledged receipt but provided no formal commitment or timeline.

Most officials did not respond at all by our April 30 deadline.

So we escalated. Locally, regionally, and now internationally.

Decades without water is not normal.

We are not stepping back. We are stepping up-for Beecher Town, Twickenham, Race Course, Cottage, New Street, Hinds Town, and Salisbury.
