I've been upset with taco johns since the day they discontinued one of their best food items, the Crunchy Chicken. The bad thing about this as well is that it seems like they have tried to erase the history of them ever having the chicken. I don't know why maybe they were so embarrassed after they got so much hate for getting rid of it they wanted to pretend it never existed, but no-one will forget that beautifully tasty chicken, and I have proof.

On facebook.com taco johns posted the release of their new Chicken Snacker, most likely expecting praise for their item, yet they got quite the opposite. There were 5 main complaints and honestly, I think they bring a solid argument. The first one I saw was from Ashley Ashley, she said “Bring back the Crunchy Chicken! Just ordered and it’s 2 tiny pieces of dried up chicken. Super disappointed” and she followed up with this picture. Now, does that look appetizing to you? I think not

Now I'll show you 2 more so bare with me; this one comes from Dylan Denton “I'm speechless. 17 years (or thereabouts, maybe I'm the only one counting) you've had the excellent Crunchy Chicken on your menu, arguably the best popcorn-style chicken bites in the whole fast food industry, and now they're gone in the blink of an eye. The hot, fresh, juicy, perfectly seasoned nuggets replaced with these bland, dry, colorless, generic strips. I am heartbroken to say the least. Crunchy Chicken got me hooked on TJ's as a child and it's been a favorite go-to lunch for me ever since. Losing it feels like losing a childhood friend. I'll likely never see it again. There's no substitute; these new chicken strips do not even compare. Know I'm being dramatic, but I cannot overstate how important the Crunchy Chicken was in my life and for it to suddenly get wiped off the face of the planet after so many long years is just insulting. Crunchy Chicken was a hidden gem that unfortunately the company didn't push hard enough to market. Taco John's quickly went from being my favorite fast food place for chicken to being completely mediocre in an instant. I can't be the only person who feels this betrayal.” and he is not the only one

From this we can assume one of 2 reasons that they got rid of this blessed chicken and that it would appear that they didn't market it enough, so they didn't get that many sales and they decided to get rid of it. Now on to this next comment, “My first job was a Taco Johns (17 years ago…… yeesh) and my favorite item since those times has been the crunchy chicken. Whether it be the burrito or I get it on the side to add to nachos or super ole. We don't go to TJs often but I was so disappointed when my 18 week pregnancy craving wanted a crunchy chicken potato burrito and they said they don't carry that chicken anymore but could make it with their new fried chicken... I got a side of it and… yuck. The outside was crispy like fried chicken should be, but it fell off in huge flakes and the chicken was cut in a rectangle chunk and was rubbery. I spit it out and just ate my holes. It's the only thing my mom would order there, too. If I wanted fried chicken, I'd go to a place that specializes in that type of thing, lol. I've tried just about everything and still always ordered my favorite. #mytacojohnsdaysaredone
