Toronto City Council yesterday voted for a new set of rideshare safety rules. Safety training for all drivers will be one of the requirements, though we still aren't sure what form that will take. Though it looks like it won't be 100% of what we asked for, it's still a huge improvement and will make what happened to Nick much less likely to happen to someone else in the future.
This would not have happened without your huge show of support, and our family would like to thank all of you for taking the time to sign and share this petition, and for contacting your councillors.
We'd also like to especially thank Councillor Mike Layton for his work in championing this issue through City Council.
