I am so happy that you have supported this peaceful and democratic solution to the current diplomatic and economic crisis facing our country and the world.  Together we can foster the much needed dialogue in the international community to restore stability to the international system and to protect the sovereignty of not just Canada, but Greenland, Panama, and Ukraine. 

The UNGA Resolution that will be proposed thanks to this petition is the essential diplomatic gesture to voice our shock and dismay at the aggression and volatility of the United States.  Once a Uniting for Peace Resolution is tabled, the international community will be able to discuss matters seriously without the interference of the P5 using their veto power to prevent effective action by the UN in the interest of peace and prosperity for all.  We can no longer allow the spoilers on the P5 (i.e. China, Russia, USA) to keep the United Nations from doing what it does best, being a guarantor of peace and prosperity through global governance and diplomacy.

I have spoken to several Members of Parliament in Ottawa last week. We have two elected officials who will serve as our champions in the House of Commons.  We will be able to effectively advocate for this with just a few more signatures. 514 signatures is a critical mass, but just imagine, with 1000 signatures, who could say no?  We are not asking for the moon and stars. We are asking for dialogue, diplomacy, and democracy.  Everyone should be on board with that.
