DO YOU THINK BC FAMILY DOCTOR’S GET PAID TOO MUCH?
You’re not alone. And the Government is counting on the people to believe that. Some may hesitate to sign our petition based on that belief.

LET’S LOOK AT THE FACTS

• 
  Lowest Paid Median Salary in all of Canada at $162,237, next closest province is NB where they earn $20,000 more.
• 
  The highest paid province is Alberta. The Federal Governments Market Report site doesn't post a rate for them, but all media reports suggest Alberta Drs Median pay is at around $365,000. Ask yourself how do BC and Alberta’s Cost of living compare?
• 
  Their average $30/patient fee for service paid by MSP is BEFORE having to pay rent for their buildings, buy their own office equipment, pay their staff, pay for Insurance, etc.
• 
  BC Family Physicians are only paid 100 % of their fee for service rate for the first 50 patients of the day. For patient 51 to 65 they get paid 50%, and for every patient over number 66 they get paid $0
   
  So if you think the fix is that Doctors should quit complaining, and should see more patients, think again. Even if they wanted to see more patients the Government has tied their hands on that. And, when you consider their pay think about how much you pay for your rent or mortgage in BC, then reassess the numbers.

The Doctors aren’t the problem here. The Doctors are the cure to the Disease the Government is letting spread.  We need more Centers and More Doctors to stay.  We need the Physician Master Agreement that is being re-negotiated right now to change substantially.
