Do you remember the Herotopia website? Even though the website launched around the same time as game that was finally released on July 14, 2010.
- Why was the game taken offline? The game was still up in early 2017, but by later that same year, it was gone.
- Besides that, even when the game was no longer playable, it was instead a community and fan hub called Hero News Network, on the "Thanks for Playing" message stated "Hi there, thank you for being a Herotopia fan for all these years. Please try some of our other fun mobile games. You can find your favorite small and mighty heroes, the Smighties, in three super fun mobile games – Smighty Stack, Mighty Smighties and Smighty Sweeper. Also, try our endless runner game – Zoom Blocks. We have exciting news! This summer, the Smighties will also be starring in a brand new animated series on YouTube! Be sure to check back for the launch date!"
- Why did the website got taken offline either? We don't know? It was still up in early 2019, and as of 2019, the website is gone.
- That's where both the game and its community and fan hub was taken offline. According to Wikipedia, "As of 2019, the game appears to be taken offline."
- Unlike most other online virtual words such as Club Penguin, there has been no official statement from either Herotainment or Jagex, its unclear why both the game and its website, particularly the official community and fan hub for Herotopia called Hero News Network, was taken offline between 2017 and 2019. Even if you do, if you go to either. herotopia.com or herotopia.com/community, it redirects to a GoDaddy page. Aside from that, if you go to game.herotopia.com, it redirects to site that can't be reached, it stated: "This site can’t be reached
The webpage at https://game.herotopia.com/ might be temporarily down or it may have moved permanently to a new web address."
