We are tantalisingly close to realising the ambition of the campaign, but we are not quite there yet. Can you take a few moments to help the campaign?
The ORR (Office of Rail and Road) is at this very moment assessing the four bids from prospective new rail operators for access to the critically important Temple Mills rail servicing depot in East London. Crucially, two operators propose to restart services from Kent: Trenitalia plan to use Ashford, while Gemini Trains propose using Ebbsfleet.
At this important moment, we are asking you to amplify your voice to the ORR, and send a direct message, asking that they prioritise an operator that will stop in Kent. Please write to the ORR (Mr Ian Biggar, stationsanddepots@orr.gov.uk ) to explain, in your own words, why this matters to you, or if you prefer, use the text of the proforma letter here.
We are expecting the ORR to make its decision known at the end of October so it is vital you write now.
