Ari’s has two episodes left. Her character is being written off.
She wanted to stay. She wanted to keep her job.
She was given a take it or leave it offer. She countered with an offer and Ken Corday refused it because there was only 1 offer on the table. He says that doesn’t constitute retaliation.
Why though? Wasn’t she important enough to this show after 25 years?
Is it true that the women on this show are treated as second class citizens?
Shouldn’t her pay be top tier? Are the men earning more than the women? Why?
If she were a man would they have negotiated? Would they give a man a take it or leave it offer?
Why are the men still there and the women gone? Did Ari see an injustice and use her voice to bring attention to why it was happening?
If she saw it and reported it to Ken Corday and his response was “what do you want me to do about it? And then he passed the buck and sent her to someone else.. why didn’t he get personally involved? He’s the Executive Producer. It’s his show. If actresses are being harassed or leaving due to a toxic environment on his show- it’s his responsibility to protect them and protect his investment.
Did he choose Albert Alaar over them? Did he let Ari go because she brought attention to a toxic work environment that he let continue for years? Isn’t that retaliation?
He should’ve been doing everything he could to protect them. To keep them happy and to keep them in the cast. To make sure they were paid according to the years they put in and equal to the men.
Letting them go was a huge mistake because now you have new actors replacing that void. If it had to do with budget cuts then why are the male leads still mostly intact?
The move to streaming was abrupt and changes took awhile to be seen due to their taping schedule. Letting so many women go was a sign that something was wrong.
Letting Albert Alaar go was a great first step. It also opened them up to a lawsuit.
Once Ari was separated from the show she chose to use her voice again with a court case. She’s standing up for herself and all the women. And we stand with her.
please continue sharing this petition. It’s important not just for getting Ari back but also for getting justice for ALL the women of Days of our Lives.
