We would like to thank everyone who has signed this petition and showed their support for the trans community. Less than 24 hours after our petition began, the American Speech-Language Hearing Association (ASHA) issued a press release stating that BYU’s decision is against the Code of Ethics. We thank ASHA for a swift and thorough response, and applaud them for taking a strong stance against discrimination. The journey, however, is not over until BYU resumes services for transgender individuals. We ask you to continue sharing this petition as we try to reach a broader audience and encourage BYU to take action.
