11,869 Coronavirus articles are free for scientists all over the world because of your support. I am moved and honored to deliver this news. Outstanding show of support during this crisis by Springer Nature, Taylor & Francis, Oxford University Press, and SAGE Publications Inc! Bravo! Wiley has unlocked about 1,000 of 4,860. Brian Napack, are you listening yet?
Elsevier may have lied to us. Elsevier claimed to unlock 2,502 articles, but we found that many of these articles were still behind paywall when we checked, including cutting-edge studies like "Coronavirus infections reported by ProMED, February 2000–January 2020." Elsevier has not responded to us, but you can ask CEO Kumsal Bayazit yourself @ElsevierConnect.
CNN reports on article you helped unlock. Jacqueline Howard reports "Here's how long coronaviruses may linger on contaminated surfaces, according to science." That science sat behind a paywall until at least February 9th, 2020: the day we raised our voices for open access to outbreak science.
Well done! We continue our fight for scientists, for humanity, for all victims of the outbreak.
