This Republican state lawmaker in West Virginia said on Thursday that while rape is horrible, it’s “beautiful” that a child could be produced in the attack.

His moronic and outdated views on women do nothing except embarrass the people of the United States, alienate women voters, while minimizing the terrible toll rape takes on women.

The national conversation can be better served by people who have the common sense to not denigrate women and who will give women's reproductive rights the attention they deserve.

Let's get this newly elected gentleman removed from the House of Delegates in the state of West Virginia and barring that, he owes the women of the world an apology for his thoughtless remarks.

If he wishes to bring discussions of rape back into the dialogue about women’s access to reproductive health care then he should not hide behind insulting remarks that show he is completely out of touch with the realities of rape and issues of importance to all women.
