NEISD has decided to repeal any aspect of privacy for its students by instituting a new rule which requires clear backpacks. This is poorly thought through. It will leave the hundreds of students who carry car keys, laptops, wallets, IDs and cash unsafe and vulnerable. It strips any opportunity for individuality from its students. It eliminates privacy and is inconsiderate to those who carry personal items such as feminine products. This petition is to encourage the NEISD school district to seek a more effective and sympathetic solution to gun violence.
