Very recently, a law in Brazil was overturned after 18 years, legalizing gay conversion therapy.

This was a major setback for not only Brazil, but the whole LGBTQIAPK+ community around the world. As Beto Perazzo said on Twitter, “There's no cure for what is not a disease.”

As a young member of the LGBT+ community in the U.S., I was so blessed to be accepted by the majority of my friends and family, and still be treated the same way as I was treated before – a human being. Gay conversion therapy cripples members of the LGBT+ group so much that they are too fearful to be themselves, and sometimes forms of gay conversion therapy can lead to serious injury or in some severe cases, death. We are encouraged through all of our years to be ourselves, but how can the people of Brazil, especially the closeted youth, be themselves if  a homophobic guardian or parent can simply bring their child to gay conversion therapy?

Stand with me and the LGBTQIAPK+ community of Brazil. Help repeal a law that should've never been overturned in the first place.
