Recent allegations of sexual harassment and assault against Professor Alec Klein have left us feeling disgusted, disheartened and disappointed, and robbed of an important opportunity to learn and report in conjunction with the Medill Justice Project. Graduate students of Medill want exactly what was advertised in the curriculum of the master's program: a deep, comprehensive, intensive and hands-on investigative journalism course with real-world impact. In order to make this happen, we would like to see Professor Klein swiftly removed and promptly replaced with a readily equipped professional journalist who can provide us the learning experience that we have paid for. Many of us based our enrollment decision on Medill over other graduate school programs because of the promised chance to participate in the MJP, and we expect a replacement professor who will adhere to ethical guidelines of fair treatment for all students and who holds the expertise in investigative journalism that will provide us with a comparable learning experience to what was advertised during the admissions process. 

We are asking for signatures from the Northwestern community calling on the Dean, Provost and Title IX office to remove Professor Klein immediately.
