Hello everyone,

After our most recent Walker Stalker Con in Philadelphia, PA. one of our fellow volunteers, Jenn Gomez, was asked not to return. Jenn has been a volunteer with Walker Stalker since the Boston convention back in 2014, and since has come up with the idea to start the relief team, a team of volunteers that would help to give other volunteers breaks throughout the day. This idea came about after the New York/New Jersey con and was implemented starting at the Chicago con in 2015. Jenn has had overwhelmingly positive support on this idea and has helped hundreds of volunteers since the team began. Just recently, she had been announced to be one of the first lead volunteers for the convention. This is a brand new title that made its first debut at the Philadelphia convention this past weekend.

Not only did Jenn volunteer countless hours during the convention hours, but she also volunteered at many other events that not many people recognize. In order to run a successful con, you need to set up and plan for the con itself. Jenn has dedicated a lot of time from planning out the relief team to setting up and tearing down the convention. It takes so many hours, days, even weeks to plan out and run a successful team. I've never seen someone complete all of this tedious work with so much pride until I met Jenn. However, Jenn's work doesn't stop there, After every convention, we always have after con events. These events range from Emily Kinney concerts to Chandler Riggs family rock'n'roll events to even IronE Singleton's Blindsided by The Walking Dead. In order to run smoothly, these events need amazing volunteers to dedicate even more time on top of the already eleven hour days of work. Jenn has worked these events happily since the New York/New Jersey convention in 2014. Only about a team of ten volunteers work these events, and not many people realize the work put in to running these after hour shows. These volunteers are also often taken for granted, however, Jenn always goes back and works the next event without hesitation.

After this convention, however, Jenn received the horrible news. She had been told that she would no longer be the lead volunteer working with relief team, and that she was no longer welcome to volunteer with any future cons. She would now be removed from her position in a team that she had the idea of starting, and acted on the idea to come up with the best team Walker Stalker Con could ask for.

Working with Jenn since February, when the relief team began, I wanted to say that never once have I seen any type of attitude come from Jenn. She is one of the nicest, caring, and most hardworking individuals that this con has ever seen. You can ask any volunteer, and they will express to you just how amazing Jenn is. This petition is directed towards the staff of Walker Stalker Con, and everyone signing it wanted to express how much they believe that Jenn should still be a lead volunteer, and she should still be allowed at the cons. Lastly, I just wanted to say no hard feelings to anyone. Please take the time to sign this petition and bring back our fellow volunteer, and friend, Jenn Gomez, she deserves it.
