938 more homes could be coming to Winkfield Row
Have you heard of SHELAA?
Have you heard of WINK14?
These are 2 very important things that you should know about if you are a resident of Winkfield Row or live in the surrounding area.
In January 2016 Bracknell Forest Council (BFC) put out a call for potential development sites. The sites that have been put forward by landowners can be viewed in document CLP/EV/10f called the Strategic Housing and Economic Land Availability Assessment (SHELAA) Part 2 .
WINK14 is a large parcel of land west of Braziers Lane / Locks Ride and North and South of Forest Road (Winkfield Row) that has been proposed by landowners for development. (see map )
Bracknell Forest Council is currently deciding on whether this could be a future site for up to 938 more homes. If this site is approved for consultation and evaluation it could be very difficult for residents to prevent development going ahead.
The time to show our opposition is now.
Whilst a large development would generate for BFC, contributions towards infrastructure changes, such changes and their impact are as yet unknown and unspecified.
What we do know is:
- Winkfield Row could increase in size by about one and half times. Currently there are in the region of 650 homes in Winkfield Row and this could increase to nearly 1600.
- Increased cars on the road. Average car ownership in the Parish of Winkfield is about 1.7 per household so there could be at least 1600 more cars in the local area.
- The existing character of Winkfield Row would be lost forever.
If you are against development of this scale in Winkfield Row, the time to act is NOW and to show your opposition by signing the following petition.
Petition against the selection of WINK14 as a proposed development site.
We, the undersigned, oppose the development of up to 938 homes on the sites collectively known as WINK14 as identified on the Bracknell Forest Strategic Housing and Economic Land Availability Assessment (SHELAA): Part 2 Results (August 2017).
Thank you for taking the time to read this important information.
