Great development! We continue to help impact change with our 5 ACTION ITEMS.
In line with our recommended ACTION ITEM 3, Hillel International, ADL (the Anti-Defamation League), the Louis D. Brandeis Center for Human Rights Under Law, and Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher LLP announced its great new initiative to "provide pro bono legal services to Jewish students facing antisemitism." https://www.hillel.org/leading-jewish-organizations-and-law-firms-launch-legal-protection-helpline-for-campus-antisemitism/
WE NEED TO KEEP PUTTING PRESSURE on UPenn to enforce its own conduct codes, as we state in Section 3b, and 3c and to WARN UPENN STUDENTS against relying on UPenn's Administration and security team for speedy or fair results.
3. STUDENTS: STOP relying on UPenn’s Security and Administration for a fair outcome and speedy process. Beware the Administration’s perennial security, new committee, and sensitivity training publicity stunts.
a. Alumni lawyers can provide legal services (pro bono) for those students and faculty who need advice, protection, and legal representation outside UPenn’s judicial process.
b. Apply pressure on the Administration to enforce its own stated codes of conduct act by activating all relevant state and federal government, security options and non-profit organizations
c. Beware UPenn’s security incentives to protect some student groups and capture, save, and share associated discrimination information. Create a coordinated surveillance strategy to capture, track, and tag all incidents and perpetrators. Continue to share phone video, social media, and other data with relevant authorities, political bodies and non-profit organizations.
