Virunga, Congo: Ranger Freddy Mahamba Muliro was killed defending Wildlife

Virunga National Park is greatly saddened to confirm the death of Freddy Mahamba Muliro during an attack on a ranger position on Thursday, March 7th in the Park’s troubled Central Sector.

This takes the toll to 176 Rangers killed on duty by poachers.
