South African Wayne Lotter (51) was an anti-poaching operative and organizer, whose efforts drastically decreased the poaching of elephants in Tanzania. He was shot in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania on August 16, 2017. He received numerous death threats over the years and pushed on anyways. RIP boet!
