Distinguished Supporters;

Thank you so much for your continued support and dedication to our Boycott of the Speed! After our first week online, we have gotten almost 100 signatures! (86 as of my writing this!)

Some time was spent this evening putting up flyers around Old Louisville, talking to neighbors, and stopping in to ask a few business if they are able to hang flyers. Many of them have to review it with management, but seemed interested! We even got the interest of a few patrons at a couple of the places!

We left with 65 flyers of varying sizes and posted them/passed them out until there were none left. And a kind group of people took a stack from us to spread around U of L’s campus. If any of you are reading this- you’re the coolest and we really appreciate your help!

This is not possible without numbers. Please continue to share, have conversations, and tell people you think that this is important! We have nearly 1600 views on this campaign, but under 100 signatures. If all of those people had signed, we would be well on our way to making the Speed take this seriously.

I didn’t understand “shadow bans” until I witnessed my own content not getting any interactions despite my personal posts still receiving engagements. But they are real and it is likely due to Meta/Facebook/Instagram’s new “hide political content” feature. But this is possible. Upholding Racial Equity standards isn’t an on-and-off switch; it’s a constant, conscious process for which all humans are responsible.

Thank you so much again for your dedication to fighting for Racial Equity and Inclusion in all spaces, including Art Museums! Honoring Louisville’s Black Community is crucial to pursuing a bright future for everyone.
