On May 20, South Korea’s President Yoon Suk-yeol had a bilateral meeting with the United Kingdom Prime Minister Rishi Sunak at the G7 Summit in Hiroshima. Prime Minister Sunak said the UK wants South Korea to be its most important partner in the Asia-Pacific region and has proposed a detailed plan and agreement for enhancing their cooperation.

In South Korea, there are numerous dog farms, slaughterhouses, markets, and restaurants where the dogs, who have been tortured their entire lives, end up being slaughtered in the most inhumane ways, such as by electrocution, hanging, or beating, and then thrown into boiling water – sometimes while they are still alive. In many places, dogs are being killed in full view of other terrified, caged dogs; and this takes place in broad daylight.

We cannot stand by while South Korea continues to deceive us and inflict unimaginable cruelty on animals who consider humans guardians and companions. So we are now asking the UK government to urge South Korea to stop their nation's dog and cat meat industry – an illegal, brutal, and diabolical industry.
