Petition updateBOYCOTT HORSE-DRAWN CARRIAGES IN CHARLESTON, SC
THERE IS GLOBAL SUPPORT FOR CHARLESTON BOYCOTT

Horses Without CarriagesCharleston, SC, United States

Aug 29, 2016
It has been a little more than one month and we have more then 3,100 signatures of people who agreed to boycott Charleston as long as they continue to allow the exploitative and inhumane horse-drawn carriage trade.
But what it truly exciting is that every single state in the US is represented along with 57 countries -- from Mexico and Canada to several South American countries to middle and eastern Europe to Japan and the Philippines. There truly is a compassion gene and the world is coming to see Charleston for what it really is - a city that pretends to be genteel but cannot seem to get over its history and love for slavery, transferring it to carriage horses. The image of one horse pulling a wagon of 17 people is obscene. Needing a committee to decide whether 98 degrees is too hot is absurd.
A big shout out to all the many good people from Charleston and surrounding states who signed the petition and agree with this boycott. They know how hot it can get for both people and horses. They hate seing how the horses are exploited.
Although we have reached out to the Mayor, City Council, hotels and media, we are being ignored.
PLEASE share this petition with others - let's get those numbers up. Thanks again for caring about these long abused animals
