Petition updateBoy Scout Leaders: Speak Out Against Discrimination and Harassment of Girls in ScoutingRank Advancement Needed Immediately to Prepare Girls to Participate at the International Jamboree

Young women need to be let into the Boy Scouts of America right now, as preparations are being made for the International Jamboree in 2019. The Cub Scouts moved its early date of registration for Cub age girls to January 2018. However, the Boy Scouts are delaying the acceptance of older girls into Troops until 2019, for no valid reason. If girls are allowed in now, there may even be a female Eagle Scout attending the International Jamboree! We encourage our National Scout leaders to allow all girls to join Cub Packs and Scout Troops, starting on January 2018. After all, there was no lengthy waiting period when all boys were allowed in Scouting back in 2013. Please send a respectful email to Boy Scout President Randall Stephenson and Chief Scout Executive Michael Surbaugh and ask them to give Sydney and other girls the opportunity to join the Boy Scout now! Please also share this petition and ask others to sign/comment/share. send to: Randall.Stephenson@scouting.org; pr@scouting.org; myscouting@scouting.org; rs2982@att.com; michael.surbaugh@scouting.org It is essential that all our children have the opportunity to learn the values of scouting, to be Trustworthy, Loyal, Helpful, Friendly, Courteous, Kind, Obedient, Cheerful, Thrifty, Brave, Clean, and Reverent.
