We oppose selling the Nazzaro Community Center at 30 N Bennett St. for private development or to build a modern building that closes all or part of the The Polcari Playground. This rare open space and central gathering space in the heart of the North End have been in constant use for over 100 years by our community. We propose to continue some community programs at the existing Nazzaro Center and build additional new facilities, as needed, in a second North End Boston location such as the city-owned Fulton Street parking lot.
