Thank YOU.

We are now at over 400,000 thousand signatures! Keep sharing and together we can get to 500,000 signatures before Easter Sunday.

If you're wondering what you can do now that you have signed and shared the petition AND written to your MP, you can write a letter to the editor of your local paper today.

I have seen in the comments that so many of you have powerful stories to share and reasons for supporting this petition. Writing to your local newspaper is a super effective way of getting the message out and making sure that editors across the country realise that this issue is of high public interest. Local newspapers are often part of nationwide media groups so your letter may well have reach far beyond your local town!

Check your local paper's letters page or their website for details about how to send in your letter for publication.

If you can tell your story within your letter, that’s amazing, but to make it simple you can use the template text (in italics) below:

Dear Letters Editor,

I believe that Boris Johnson and Rishi Sunak should not be allowed to remain their jobs following the news earlier this week that they were issued fines for breaking lockdown regulations.

I have signed a change.org petition, along with almost 400,000 other people, asking that both Johnson and Sunak step down immediately.

This is the first time in history that a Prime Minister has broken the law whilst in office. We cannot set a precedent that Prime Ministers are above the laws that they create and enforce.

I do not believe that anyone who breaks the law should be allowed to remain Prime Minister or Chancellor.

Yours sincerely,

[Your Name]

Thank you for continuing to speak out
