The 2nd reading of the Down Syndrome Bill will happen this Friday, the 26th Nov, and we are gathering to celebrate history being made!

This will be a historic moment for people with Down syndrome and their families!

The Down Syndrome Bill was introduced to Parliament earlier this year by Dr Liam Fox MP as a Private Members Bill. The Bill is due to be voted on by MPs next month, on 26th November, and it needs to pass in order to reach the next stage before becoming law.

Thankfully it has government support and we are confident it will go through this 2nd reading and debate stage towards becoming the Down Syndrome Act.

We are holding a celebration outside Parliament that afternoon to show everyone how we feel about this monumental achievement towards equality and improved life chances for people with Down syndrome.

We will be visited by MPs and celebrities and expect a press presence- so lets show them we are behind this! Gather your friends and family - be a part of history.
