Will you help us and write to Boris Johnson?

We are now approaching 50,000 signatures. Thank you so much to all of you who have signed the petition so far. We have received widespread support, from international human rights organisations to Stephen Fry. It means the world to both myself and Ruth to see so many people prepared to stand against business as usual.
Over the last few days, we have seen various reports that the UK Government is pursuing formal trade negotiations with China (see articles in the Express, Times, Sun, Guardian, and this interview with Sir Iain Duncan Smith MP). This is something the UK Government has consistently said it would not do and it is not what a ‘responsible Government’ would do when the CCP are committing atrocities that are ‘beyond the pale’.
Our campaign is now more vital than ever. We are therefore asking each and every one of you to take two simple actions that will make a world of difference.
1. To write to Boris Johnson using the email template below.
EMAIL TO: boris.johnson.mp@parliament.uk
SUBJECT LINE: Will you meet with Holocaust Survivors ahead of the vote on the Genocide Amendment?
Dear Prime Minister,
Holocaust Survivors Dorit Oliver Wolff BEM and Ruth Barnett MBE wrote to you on the 23 February 2021 asking you to meet with them ahead of the vote on the Genocide Amendment. I am writing to you to ask if you will accept their invitation?
As Holocaust surviors, Dorit and Ruth know the trauma of genocide. Despite the promise of “never again”, this has never been achieved. The UK has never recognised a genocide whilst it is occuring. Despite condemning the actions of the perpetrators, genocides are allowed to worsen whilst we turn a blind eye and a deaf ear.
As we become a global Britain, the UK has the opportunity to be an international leader. No longer should it appease or reward genocidal states. It is imperative that the UK implements a mechanism for a preliminary determination of genocide to be made while there is still time to prevent it. The upcoming Genocide Amendment to the Trade Bill would do just that.
Whilst we delay, genocide is allowed to worsen. Trade is not worth the price of a people. Please meet with Ruth and Dorit ahead of the vote on the Genocide Amendment to discuss the changes we urgently need to see.
Yours sincerely,
[Name]
2. Write to your MP using the email template from the Coalition for Genocide Response.
This email template can be accessed on the Coalition for Genocide Response website here.
Although it will only take 30 seconds to do this, the impact it will have will be monumental.
Thank you once again for your support.
Love to you all,
Dorit and Ruth
