Good afternoon everyone,
Firstly, a huge thank you to you all for taking the time to sign my petition. When I set it up, I never imagined that it would get such an amazing response and if it has achieved anything, it has made thousands of you aware of the potential risks associated with cervical treatment which will hopefully prevent this tragedy happening to you.
I recently received some great news from my local midwife. She informed me that Wexham Park Hospital, the hospital that I was with when I lost Angel, have updated their guidelines and will now provide additional monitoring for women who have had ANY cervical treatment. This is also now a question at your midwife booking in appointment which is AMAZING!! This feels like a big step in the right direction and many hospitals are following suit. However, there is still a huge lack of awareness when it comes to risks associated with cervical treatment and pre-term birth. Please keep sharing my petition with your friends and help us to reach our target of 10,000 and hopefully a review by the government.
In the meantime, I am writing to local hospitals to share my petition and encourage them to adopt the same level of monitoring that’s is being advised for women who have had cervix’s treatment. If all hospitals made monitoring statutory then so many babies would be saved.
My husband and I will keep fighting.
Thank you for helping us raise awareness.
Lots of love,
Emma and Ryan x
