Thank you so much for your support so far. We really don't want to bombard you with updates but do want to remind you this petition is still fighting for more signatures on behalf of children and adults across the UK.
Your signature really is making an impact and supporting the battle to ensure that the feet of our children and vulnerable adults are not compromised during lockdown. Whilst we are now around 750 signatures strong, we're still a fair way from preventing this happening going forward and pushing for this subject to be discussed in government.
As the government continue to segregate economic growth in retail during lockdown, our focus is on the children and adults at risk of ill health by way of poor footwear fittings or even forgotten feet. And surviving to serve our communities when we can return.
This decision for our services needs review, especially for medically referred fittings.
Sadly, without experts properly checking fit to prevent and reduce the number of some 4 million children wearing ill fittings shoes - the numbers are sadly at risk of increase. And the statistics for adults wearing poor fittings, well, you can quadruple that figure again and again. Due to various factors, some of which are online purchases and self fittings. It's sad but concerning for those of us in the business of foot health by way of proper footwear fittings. We see the aftermath after all.
