Petition updateAllow Olympic hopeful the right to compete at British Swimming trials Glasgow 2016
Bureaucratic error rules over performance

Russ KitchingENG, United Kingdom
Apr 13, 2016
As Olympic trials commence in Glasgow this week there is no place in the programme for Lewis.
Despite being ready to race this political hot potato is left with no one at British Swimming willing to address what was a simple request to reverse the decision and give Lewis his right to participate.
There is no doubt there is a big divide between Performance British swimming and the administration that is run by the ASA,The A standing for 'Amateur'. Even CEO David Sparks of British Swimming says he has "No power to intervene" but is willing to review the procedures after these trials. This does not help Lewis who is ready to race this Saturday and be in the mix for a place.
Lewis is determined to race somewhere on the weekend to put all the hard work and commitment to use. He is deeply upset over what is a non performance issue which he earned the right to participate being stolen from him.
A search for a Competition manager to use discretion and allow an entry passed the deadline is underway.
