Petition updateBon Jovi, Boycott IsraelIsrael systematically destroys Palestinian farmers' livelihood. Will Bon Jovi boycott?
PACBI The Palestinian Campaign for the Academic and Cultural Boycott of IsraelRamallah, Palestinian territories
Sep 8, 2015
Because Jon Bon Jovi's Soul Foundation focuses on “combating issues that force families and individuals into economic despair”, our campaign focuses on highlighting the economic aspects of Israel's apartheid regime.
Just this morning, Israeli soldiers invaded Palestinian farmlands in Ertas village, south of the West Bank city of Bethlehem, and uprooted more than 10 Dunams (2.47 Acres) of privately owned agricultural lands.
Coordinator of the Popular Committee Against the Wall and Settlements in Bethlehem Hasan Breijiyya said the soldiers bulldozed and uprooted farmlands in Jabal Abu Zeid area, south of Ertas, and that the uprooted lands belong to Riyad Qaraqe. He added that the army is alleging the attacked property is “state land,” that cannot be planted or utilized by the Palestinians.
We hope to illustrate to Jon and the rest of the band, the economic policies which their concert will serve to whitewash, so that they may reconsider this performance- in light of Palestinian civil society call for international solidarity- to boycott Israel.
We also hope to encourage you to sign and share the petition with your family, friends, and networks.
